We Want Your Cans for Our Boobs

30 04 2010

Catchy title, isn’t it?

Last year, my wife Julie and I walked in our first Breast Cancer 3 Day. It was an amazing experience. When we finished, there was no doubt in our minds that we would walk again this year. In fact, we registered for the 2010 walk before Julie’s shin splints had healed from the 2009 walk.

This year, our friend Kristin has joined our team – Team F.A.B. (For All Boobs). Kristin and her awesome roommate Erika (who has taken on the role of our fundraising coordinator) have motivated us to start raising money early so we can not only reach our goal needed to walk ($2,300 each), but exceed it.

One of our fundraisers this year revolves around recycling. We are asking everyone to save their bottles and cans, take them into a recycling center, and donate the money to our team. With 1 in 8 women getting diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, we need to fund research to put an end to breast cancer, which is why we need your cans for our boobs.

If you are in the San Diego area, you can also support our team by eating at the Applebee’s in Mission Valley on May 23, 2010. You will need a copy of our flyer. We will get 15% of the bill (minus tax, tip, and alcohol) for each table that presents our flyer on May 23, 2010. We’d love to see you there!

Of course, we would also love a donation to any of our team members through the 3 Day website. Read more about our team and donate to one of us through our team’s page. Team FAB (For All Boobs)

Thanks for checking in and thanks in advance for your support. Let’s put an end to breast cancer!
